The Opportunity

This well-established, high-performance engineering and manufacturing business specialises in advanced material solutions. Operating within complex, regulated supply chains, they support globally recognised engineering programmes across sectors such as aerospace, defence, marine, and motorsport.

As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a key role focused on delivering accurate, competitive costings that directly influence business success and customer engagement.

The Role

Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain, you will be responsible for producing robust and commercially viable cost estimates in response to customer RFQs.Key responsibilities include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates for components, assemblies, and toolingAnalysing engineering drawings, CAD data, specifications, and BOMsDeveloping and maintaining structured costing models using advanced spreadsheetsReviewing manufacturing methods to ensure efficient cost allocation (labour, materials, overheads)Maintaining and improving estimating tools, templates, and cost databasesInputting and managing cost data within ERP systemsSupporting BOM and routing accuracy across internal systemsCollaborating cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate proposal submissionEngaging with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and lead timesIdentifying cost risks, assumptions, and opportunities for improved competitivenessWe are looking for a commercially aware and detail-oriented estimator with a strong technical foundation and a proactive mindset.

Key requirements

Experience in estimating, cost engineering, or manufacturingStrong Excel / spreadsheet modelling capabilityExperience working with ERP systemsAbility to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentationUnderstanding of manufacturing processes, routings, and production workflowsHighly organised with excellent attention to detailWhy Apply?
