Job overview

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, well-motivated Clinical Support Workers to join our Gynaecological Nursing team in the Gynaecology Outpatients Clinic at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

We have funding for a permanent part-time position.

Main duties of the job

  • Work as an effective team member
  • Support staff in the delivery of patient focused care
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Commit to personal development
  • Support patients and families

Education and qualifications

  • Good general education – basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in a care related area
  • Willingness to undertake NVQ level 3 in a care related area
  • Completed Trust Support Worker Programme
  • ECDL or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous experience of working with the general public
  • Previous experience of working with patients in a care environment

Skills, ability and knowledge

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (to understand and be understood)
  • Good basic hygiene skills
  • Ability to follow clear instructions and provide feedback to senior staff
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative or with minimal supervision
  • Awareness of the NHS structure and current issues
