Senior Power BI Developer (Local Government)
£591 per day. Inside IR35. 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London. 36 hours per week.
Overview
Salt Recruitment is working with a local government body to recruit an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to support council-wide business intelligence and reporting. This senior, hands‑on role works closely with service leads and corporate stakeholders to deliver high‑quality Power BI solutions that support decision‑making, service improvement, and organisational change.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Translate complex business requirements into robust BI solutions.
- Work directly with senior stakeholders across council services and corporate functions.
- Extract, model and transform data from multiple council systems.
- Support complex, multi‑disciplinary projects that drive organisational and cultural change.
- Ensure reporting outputs are delivered within agreed scope, quality and budget.
- Produce and maintain all required documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential experience:
- Demonstrable experience delivering Power BI solutions within local government.
- Strong hands‑on Power BI development skills, including data modelling and DAX.
- Experience working with complex, multi‑source public sector data.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting large‑scale transformation or organisational change programmes.
Contract details
£591 per day. Inside IR35. 36 hours per week. Hybrid working – 4 days remote, 1 day onsite in Central London. Immediate or short‑notice availability preferred. Only candidates with proven local government experience are considered. Rates depend on experience and client requirements.
