Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of residential support workers
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory and safeguarding standards
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of staff
- Support young people with daily routines, emotional development, and educational goals
- Respond to challenging behaviour with empathy, professionalism, and consistency
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and logs
- Provide on-call support on a rota basis
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
- NVQ Level 3/4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent); Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work on a shift/rota basis (including weekends & sleep-ins)
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care
- Resilience, compassion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Full UK driving licence
