Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time

Salary:Upto £45,000 (DOE)

Job Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work within a commercial office building in EC3, Central London. This is a Monday to Friday, day‑shift role with a growing SME facilities management provider, delivering high‑quality mechanical maintenance across a professional office environment.

This position is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, or Building Services Engineer with experience in commercial offices or facilities management environments looking for a stable weekday role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical building services
  • Respond to reactive mechanical maintenance within a commercial office environment
  • Maintain and fault‑find on HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), pumps, valves, and pipework
  • Oversee and support water systems, including basic monitoring and compliance tasks
  • Ensure plant rooms and mechanical areas are maintained to a high standard
  • Assist with minor mechanical installation and repair works
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and site procedures
  • Complete maintenance paperwork, permits to work, and CAFM updates
  • Liaise professionally with clients, management, and other engineers

Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Commercial Mechanical Engineer
  • Background working in commercial offices, corporate buildings, or facilities management
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services systems
  • Ability to fault‑find and troubleshoot mechanical plant
  • Knowledge of basic compliance systems (water hygiene / L8 awareness beneficial)
  • Reliable, well‑presented, and customer‑focused
  • Able to work independently within a small FM team
