We are passionate about developing our people and offer the flexibility needed to thrive in the role.

You will partner with a diverse education client base, building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

This role is suited to an experienced HR professional, whether from an in‑house education setting, advisory, or consultancy background, who understands the unique demands of the sector and is confident in a client‑facing role.

This is a great opportunity to join a firm with an outstanding national reputation while making a meaningful impact in education.

This role can be based in any of our offices; Bath, Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Manchester and Leeds. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available, and we are committed to supporting different working patterns.

  • Join an ambitious, friendly, values‑led firm with a strong culture
  • Access excellent benefits, with a focus on wellbeing and development
  • Enjoy flexible, hybrid working with a strong commitment to work‑life balance

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering pragmatic HR advice to clients on a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability and organisational change
  • Designing and delivering training and workshops for managers and leadership teams
  • Leading and managing complex casework, including investigations, hearings and formal procedures
  • Monitoring and reporting on activities and providing relevant management information, including time recording appropriately
  • Building and maintaining effective client relationships, acting as a trusted and credible advisor
  • Producing clear, practical and legally aligned HR documentation and guidance
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across the Employment and HR teams to deliver a seamless, high‑quality service
  • Supporting business development activity with the firm’s clients, with a particular focus on our Education clients such as academies and schools
  • Contributing to the development of the Firm’s range of human resource services, and assisting the employment law team to expand their services, e.g., providing bespoke HR services to clients under retainer arrangement
  • Using your technical knowledge and professional skills with support from senior colleagues

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience providing HR advice across a broad range of employee relations and generalist HR matters in either a consultancy, advisory or professional services environment, or working in an in‑house HR role supporting complex stakeholder groups
  • Extensive knowledge of employment relations, particularly casework relating to disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and restructuring
  • Experience managing a varied workload and prioritising effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical advice

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within or alongside the education sector (e.g., schools, academies, public regulated organisations)
  • Experience contributing to business development or service growth activities
