We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join a Global Manufacturing firm going through considerable growth. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for a growing manufacturing site specialising in high-precision components, actuation devices, and complex CNC-machined assemblies.
You will lead the Engineering function to deliver process optimisation, continuous improvement, and innovation while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining technical authority, team development, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Engineering team, promoting high performance, engagement, and capability growth.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across processes, tooling, equipment, and systems.
- Define engineering standards, specifications, and methods to meet cost, quality, and performance objectives.
- Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, technical troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA, 8D, FMEA).
- Plan, prioritise, and align engineering activities with organisational goals and cross-functional operations.
- Manage departmental and project budgets, ensuring delivery within financial targets.
- Oversee major projects from concept to delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring milestones are met.
- Communicate strategy effectively to teams and stakeholders, promoting collaboration and innovation.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, embedding robust engineering controls.
Skills & Experience
- Strong engineering foundation with experience in process design, optimisation, and advanced manufacturing.
- Expertise in project management, risk assessment, and delivery control.
- Proficient in engineering documentation, drawings, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience in capability growth, supplier compliance, and equipment validation.
- Ability to lead teams through change, solve complex problems, and drive data‑led continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years’ leadership experience in large‑scale manufacturing, aerospace, or complex engineering operations.
- Proven track record of driving operational performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
