Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join a Global Manufacturing firm going through considerable growth. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for a growing manufacturing site specialising in high-precision components, actuation devices, and complex CNC-machined assemblies.

You will lead the Engineering function to deliver process optimisation, continuous improvement, and innovation while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining technical authority, team development, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Engineering team, promoting high performance, engagement, and capability growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across processes, tooling, equipment, and systems.
  • Define engineering standards, specifications, and methods to meet cost, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Lead complex problem-solving initiatives, technical troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA, 8D, FMEA).
  • Plan, prioritise, and align engineering activities with organisational goals and cross-functional operations.
  • Manage departmental and project budgets, ensuring delivery within financial targets.
  • Oversee major projects from concept to delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring milestones are met.
  • Communicate strategy effectively to teams and stakeholders, promoting collaboration and innovation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, embedding robust engineering controls.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong engineering foundation with experience in process design, optimisation, and advanced manufacturing.
  • Expertise in project management, risk assessment, and delivery control.
  • Proficient in engineering documentation, drawings, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience in capability growth, supplier compliance, and equipment validation.
  • Ability to lead teams through change, solve complex problems, and drive data‑led continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ leadership experience in large‑scale manufacturing, aerospace, or complex engineering operations.
  • Proven track record of driving operational performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
