BLACKPOOL TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST, PHARMACY DEPARTMENT, Ward Based Pharmacy Support Worker, Band 2/3, Monday – Friday, (Evening/Weekend & Bank Holiday working on a rotational basis).

Main duties of the job
- Review prescriptions and provide timely medication supplies to inpatients.
- Prioritise urgent discharge prescriptions to help patients get home safely and efficiently.
- Support medicines optimisation by making the best use of patients’ own medicines.
- Recognise and safely handle controlled drugs brought in by patients.
- Check patients’ own medication, ensuring they are stored, labelled, and used correctly.
- Use a range of electronic systems confidently to keep records accurate and up to date.

- Previous experience is not essential in this role.
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is essential for this role; candidates without this qualification will be appointed at Band 2 and will progress to Band 3 upon completion of the qualification. Previous experience in dispensing is not necessary as full training will be provided.
