HGV Driver – Refuse and Recycling Collection

The rewards

• £17.47 per hour (weekdays)
• Higher rates for weekends and overtime
• Long-term opportunity with potential to become permanent

Hours

• Monday to Friday with potential evening and weekend overtime
• AM shifts: start at 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM, or 7:00 AM
• PM shifts: 12:30 PM – 9:30 PM
• Approximately 6.5 hours per shift

The role of HGV Driver:

• Drive along designated routes to collect refuse and recycling waste
• Check routes for safety restrictions, planned roadworks, and traffic to ensure smooth operations
• Complete all required paperwork including job logs and incident reports
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
• Adhere to site rules and regulations, including correct PPE usage

The ideal HGV Driver:

• Valid HGV licence
• Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience
• Ability to complete enhanced compliance checks (Right to Work, references, proof of address, National Insurance number)
• Strong attention to safety and reliability
