With a significant pipeline and continued expansion underway, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in shaping high-performing operational environments within one of the UK’s most active property platforms.

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, proactive and customer-focused Customer Service Assistant to join our student accommodation team in Sheffield. This role plays a vital part in shaping the day-to‑day experience of our residents and ensuring they feel welcomed, supported and at home from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities

  • As the first point of contact for students, you will set the tone for their entire stay, welcoming new residents during check‑in, responding to enquiries, resolving concerns and contributing to a vibrant community atmosphere.
  • Organise social events or community activities, support a student with a personal concern, and work alongside the facilities team to ensure the building operates smoothly.
  • Provide a professional and approachable service to all residents, dealing with queries and complaints calmly, fairly and timely to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Create a welcoming community environment by supporting events and activities that encourage engagement and connection, and help residents leave with a positive experience.
  • Support local occupancy targets by encouraging re‑bookings and renewals, maintaining awareness of local market conditions and competitor offerings, and balancing commercial needs with high customer‑service standards.
  • Contribute to wider community and sustainability initiatives, promote recycling and energy‑saving practices, and support community or charity projects that help students connect with the wider Sheffield area.
  • Work closely with facilities and management teams to maintain a safe, clean and well‑managed environment, identify safety risks, follow emergency procedures, ensure mandatory training and health and safety standards are met, and liaise on maintenance requests.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in purpose‑built student accommodation, hospitality, or another customer‑facing environment.
  • Confidence handling enquiries, complaints and competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Strong team player with good organisational skills, a positive attitude and the initiative to solve problems independently.
  • Enjoy working with young people and a passion for creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming community.
