Level 2 Carpentry Apprenticeship – Events & Exhibitions

Location: Farnborough

Reports To: Production Manager

Salary: Apprenticeship Wage (in line with current government guidelines)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week including study time.

Role Overview

As a Carpentry Apprentice, you will support the design and build of our Exhibition Stands. Working alongside experienced production staff, you will develop practical woodworking and construction skills in a fast-paced and creative environment.

You will attend training sessions as part of your apprenticeship programme while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the construction of exhibition stands, staging, scenic elements, and bespoke event builds.
  • Learn to interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Support workshop preparation, including material handling and stock organisation.
  • Assist with onsite installations and breakdowns at venues across the UK when required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with workshop, production, and project teams.Develop knowledge of different materials including timber, MDF, laminates, and exhibition systems.
  • Complete apprenticeship coursework and attend all training sessions.

Skills Required:

  • Genuine interest in carpentry, construction, or set building.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good practical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Basic understanding of health & safety practices.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred).
  • Previous workshop, DIY, or construction experience.
  • Interest in events, exhibitions, theatre, or creative production.
  • Full UK driving licence (or willingness to work towards obtaining one).
