Responsibilities
- Provide tailored advice and structured interventions to empower students in decisions regarding behaviour, attendance, and social interactions, including full support for structuring and resourcing these interventions.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and colleagues to share effective strategies for supporting students.
- Build strong connections with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for every student.
- Strengthen the school‑family partnership to enhance educational opportunities and foster a positive attitude toward learning.
- Act as a dedicated keyworker for assigned students, tracking progress, attending meetings, and reporting concerns to the SENCo and Head of Year.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols to ensure the safety and well‑being of all students.
Mental Health Lead (optional)
- Champion the school’s approach to mental well‑being, integrating mental health support across all aspects of school life.
- Lead initiatives such as Mental Health Awareness Week.
- Oversee a team of 6th Form Mental Health Ambassadors.
- Ensure the effectiveness of the Mental Health First Aid team.

Preferred Qualifications
- ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification.
- Previous experience working in a secondary school setting.
- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs.
Salary & Hours
FTE: £26,992 p.a. to £29,800 p.a. (Actual £23,150 p.a. – £25,560 p.a.)
Term time only, plus inset days – 37 hours per week, Permanent.
