Deputy Operations Lead – Healthcare Operations

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive operational leader to play a key role in the delivery of KT Healthcare’s Autism Diagnostic Service.

Working closely with the Operations Lead, you will support the management of operational performance, patient experience, workforce planning and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day delivery of the Autism Diagnostic Service, ensuring efficiency, compliance and contractual standards.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, workforce planning and service coordination to minimise disruption.
  • Monitor operational performance against targets, identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Implement new systems, software and processes to enhance service quality.
  • Provide leadership during the Operations Lead’s absence, ensuring continuity.
  • Lead the Patient Support Coordinator and Assistant Psychologist Patient Support Coordinator teams.
  • Conduct supervision meetings, one‑to‑one reviews and appraisals.
  • Onboard, train and develop team members.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative and accountable working culture.
  • Manage workload and delegation to meet operational demands.
  • Serve as escalation point for patient, clinician and operational queries.
  • Assist with complaint management and resolution.
  • Maintain communication between operational teams, clinicians and senior management.
  • Support safeguarding, GDPR, information governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with incident reporting, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Collect, analyse and report operational performance data.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance metrics, identifying trends.
  • Provide workforce reporting, referral monitoring and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience in a similar industry.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience supporting or managing team performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional standards.
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical services or a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and information governance requirements.
  • Experience producing operational reports and performance data.
  • Experience supporting service improvement or change initiatives.
  • Understanding of autism diagnostic pathways or healthcare service delivery.
