Learning Support Assistant
Location & School
Secondary school in the Castle Donington area serving approximately 650 pupils. The role involves providing in‑class support to students with special educational needs and/or disability.
Key Details
Salary: £25,185 – £25,583 pro rata; actual £21,905.25 – £22,251.42
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)
Start Date: August 2026
Responsibilities
Provide in‑class support to students with SEN/DA.
Work closely with the Learning Support team, led by the Assistant Principal for Inclusion (SEN Co‑ordinator), and with teaching staff across all curriculum areas.
Support and encourage learners to overcome learning difficulties, develop skills and confidence, and work more independently.
Make positive contributions to the development of the college.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working in an educational setting or with children, preferably with SEN/DA.
Patience, calm, excellent communication skills, commitment and enthusiasm.
Ability to inspire learners to recognise and achieve their aspirations.
Eligibility to work in the UK and requirement to undergo a full enhanced DBS check.
