Fabricator / Welder (Architectural Metalwork)
Location: NewrySalary: £16.00 – £18.00 per hourJob Type: Permanent (3-month probation period)
Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabricator / Welder to join a well-established company specialising in architectural metalwork. This role involves the fabrication and installation of high-quality structural and decorative steelwork across a variety of projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience working with feature staircases, balustrades, railings, and escape stairs, using both mild steel and stainless steel.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication of architectural metalwork including:
- Feature staircases
- Escape stairs
- Railings and balustrades
- Working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality finished products
- Welding using MIG, TIG and Stick (Arc) processes
- Cutting, shaping and assembling metal components
- Assisting with and carrying out on-site installations where required
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
- Adhering to health & safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in architectural metalwork fabrication and fitting
- Proven experience working with mild steel and stainless steel
- Competent in MIG, TIG and Stick (Arc) welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
- Experience with both workshop fabrication and site installation
- Strong attention to detail and quality of work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
