We are seeking a reliable and professional Relief Security Officer to provide high‑quality security services across a range of sites within a defined geographical area. This role involves protecting employees, property and assets in line with site‑specific requirements and Assignment Instructions, while consistently delivering excellent customer service. The successful candidate will embody core values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness at all times.
As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through regular patrols, monitoring alarm systems and CCTV, and preventing unauthorised access. Duties also include managing site access, carrying out equipment checks, handling key control and lock/unlock procedures, and maintaining accurate records. A valid SIA licence is required prior to starting operational shifts.

Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
- Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
- Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
- Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
- Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
- Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
- A valid SIA licence
- A valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Local to Medway and willing to travel for up to 1 hour
- Flexibility to work days and nights with flexible availability
- The right to work in the UK, with a 5‑year checkable history
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
