Logistics/Porter
The Logistics/Porter works within BT’s newer buildings and is responsible for managing the flow of goods and items into, around, and out of the building on behalf of the FM team. Responsibilities include controlling the loading bay booking system, waste management, and supporting back‑of‑house teams and events.
Key responsibilities
- Move plants, equipment, furniture, deliveries, and materials around the site efficiently as required by facilities workstreams.
- Support planning of events logistics including loading and unloading equipment and moving them to the correct space, and signing in event contractors.
- Support the launch, use and training of the loading bay management system.
- Be responsible for all traffic management internally and externally, loading bay cleanliness, and reporting and managing equipment issues or breakdowns.
- Plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the programme and deconflict on‑site space and time where appropriate.
- Support evaluation of delivery management booking systems.
- Manage subcontractors to deliver goods or services.
- Support sustainability through waste movements and recycling initiatives.
- Undertake the Control of Works Authorised Person role and support identification of other APs and CPs in the cluster.
- Manage the waste service provider and look to improve service delivery.
