This short-term contract will focus on Intune, Autopilot, Microsoft Entra, and Group Policy optimisation within a hybrid environment.Client DetailsOur client is a well-established, Birmingham-based organisation operating within a complex, multi-site environment. They are currently undertaking a significant digital and infrastructure maturity programme, modernising their technology estate with a strong focus on Microsoft cloud technologies, security, and end-user experience.Working within a small but highly collaborative ICT team, you will support the delivery of key initiatives across a hybrid (on-prem and Azure) infrastructure, in a business where reliability, security, and efficiency are critical.DescriptionThis is a hands-on Interim Infrastructure Specialist role with a strong emphasis on endpoint management, identity, and cloud-first transformation.Key responsibilities include:Conducting a full discovery and assessment of the current infrastructure estate across Entra ID, Intune, Group Policy, and patchingLeading the rationalisation of Group Policy and developing a structured migration roadmap to IntuneEnhancing and optimising Autopilot deployments, including defining and validating a standard build processReviewing and strengthening the Microsoft Entra environment, including Conditional Access, identity security, and privileged accessImproving workstation patch management, including update rings, compliance reporting, and user impact considerationsAuditing application registrations, permissions, and group structures within Microsoft EntraDeveloping clear, reusable documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Supporting knowledge transfer and producing a comprehensive handover at the end of the engagementProfileThe ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, delivery-focused Interim Infrastructure Specialist with strong experience in modern Microsoft environments. You will bring:Proven experience in a hands-on Infrastructure / Endpoint / EUC roleStrong technical expertise in:Microsoft Intune & AutopilotMicrosoft Entra ID (Azure AD)Group Policy design, analysis, and migrationExperience working in hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem and cloud)Strong understanding of Conditional Access, identity governance, and endpoint complianceExperience designing or improving patch management strategiesAbility to produce clear technical documentation and work autonomously in a project-led environmentDesirable:Experience delivering GPO-to-Intune transformation projectsExposure to high-availability or regulated environmentsExperience working alongside MSPs or third-party providersJob OfferDay rate circa £400 per day (Inside IR35)Initial 3 month contract with likely extensionsOpportunity to play a key role in a meaningful infrastructure transformation programmeHigh level of ownership and autonomy across critical workstreamsBirmingham-based role with potential for some flexibility depending on project needs#J-18808-Ljbffr…
