We have an Associate opportunity in the UK FIG team within the broader EMEA Financial Institutions Group. This is an exciting opportunity for someone highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and contribute to our Investment Banking business.
The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is responsible for the origination and execution of public and private M&A and capital markets transactions involving corporate, financial sponsor and government clients. We maintain pivotal relationships with many of the most prominent clients in the financial services industry and aid them in delivering on their corporate strategy and structure.
As an Associate, you will be a key player in the origination and execution of investment banking mandates across all major product areas. You will work closely with the broader FIG team to address the needs of our clients and contribute to building J.P. Morgan’s franchise and reputation in the marketplace.
You will have opportunities to partner across teams to develop strategies for clients, build detailed financial models, analyse market data and prepare client presentations. You will manage client transactions from pitch to close under the guidance of senior team leaders, prepare detailed valuation analyses, models and presentations, and come up with innovative ways to solve complex business challenges.

Job Responsibilities
- Coverage of the UK FIG market across various sectors (banks, asset management, insurance, FinTech, etc.)
- Complete large and complex valuation and analytical exercises
- Support the preparation of presentation books, management presentations, Board materials, memorandums and other materials for M&A and capital markets transactions or strategic client dialogue
- Execute transaction support including due diligence, document preparation, negotiation and liaising with relevant counterparties at the client or other advisers
- Keep abreast of key market and regulatory developments and establish knowledge of the target client base and relevant market dynamics
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- More than 3 years of investment banking experience, with a specific focus on financial institutions
- Proficient financial analysis and modelling skills
- In-depth understanding of investment banking products
- Solid communication and project management skills
- Experience in dealing with clients and other transactional advisers
- Willingness to develop and ability to learn quickly
- Team player with good organisational skills and a rigorous eye for detail
- Excellent technology skills including superior Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Training, coaching and mentoring of junior colleagues
