Business Analyst, Business Intelligence
The Business Intelligence group is a center of excellence at the Firm for data analytics, data management and data governance. It develops and maintains datasets, dashboards and reports that provide real‑time visibility into key performance indicators, uses advanced analytics and visualization to identify opportunities for growth, uncovers inefficiencies and helps predict future trends, and collaborates with all functions to ensure data integrity and tailored insights.
Responsibilities
- Understand the key drivers of the firm, from a business of law and a practice of law perspective, to assist stakeholders and “join-the-dots” on their data and BI requirements.
- Independently lead and manage end‑to‑end BI and analysis projects with multi‑skilled teams, fostering a data‑driven culture and ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
- Engage with stakeholders to define, document, and prioritize business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and guide stakeholders on how data, analytics and BI tools can be leveraged to solve business problems.
- Elicit pain points, process gaps and improvement opportunities, translating business challenges into clear, actionable work items for development and ensuring solutions are scalable and value‑driven.
- Collaborate with shared services and cross‑functional teams to innovate and optimise business processes, leveraging BI and legal AI capabilities.
- Apply Agile project management practices, including participation in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups and retrospectives, to ensure transparency, adaptability and iterative delivery of BI solutions that respond to evolving business needs and drive ongoing process and product improvements.
- Understand data quality initiatives, including data lineage, metadata management and remediation of data issues.
- Identify and document data pain points and work closely with developers and data engineers to proactively communicate within the BI group and recommend innovative solutions.
- Support change management activities for new or enhanced BI solutions, including stakeholder communications, training support, hyper‑care and tracking of adoption and usage metrics.
- Drive engagement with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) through targeted training, outreach and enablement programmes.
- Deliver demos, create user guides and identify new project opportunities to maximise tool adoption and business value.
- Gather and incorporate user feedback in Agile cycles to continuously improve BI solutions and user experience.
- Monitor industry trends, particularly in legal AI and analytics, to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of BI capabilities.
- Comfortable writing or reviewing basic SQL to validate logic and data.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics platforms such as Databricks.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3‑4+ years’ experience in hands‑on business analysis, requirements gathering and stakeholder management, with experience in professional services preferred.
- Experience gathering requirements and delivering projects for reporting, analytical projects and advanced BI opportunities (e.g., predictive models) is preferred.
- Understanding of the global economic environment and local markets relevant to the firm’s business, including familiarity with the firm’s key clients, geographies and industries.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Flexible self‑starter comfortable tackling new projects independently while also being able to take directions from senior staff.
- Ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
- Ability to work independently in a team environment, effectively manage time and tight deadlines; able to multitask.

Location and Reporting
This role is based in London and reports into the Associate Director of Business Intelligence. Our standard office hours are 09:30‑18:00, with a requirement for four days in the office per week.
