THE ROLE

At Worcestershire County Council, the Adult Social Care Commissioners are working with a wide range of partners across social care and health to deliver our strategy – ensuring Worcestershire residents are healthier, live longer, have a better quality of life and remain independent for as long as possible.

Our highly skilled and supportive Commissioning Team are now seeking applications from individuals to take up one of our commissioning officer roles.

The successful candidate will have opportunity to work within the Team to shape and commission high quality, innovative and value for money services that tangibly improve outcomes for adults in Worcestershire as well as opportunity to engage in a wide variety of change and transformational work.

YOUR BACKGROUND

You may come from a position within Commissioning of demand led services, or from another commercial background with an understanding of Adult Social Care. You will be able to tangibly demonstrate experience and ability to meet the person specification criteria, in particular:

  • experienceofundertakingresearchandanalysis
  • experienceinthedeliveryofservicedevelopment,improvementsandchangesin practice
  • experienceofworkinginpartnershipwithawiderangeofstakeholderstodeliver service improvements and practice changes
  • experienceofdevelopingavarietyofcommunicationmaterialssuitabletotheneeds of a range of audiences
  • abilitytoworkinaprojectenvironmentinordertomanagedeadlines,budgetsandpriorities whilst dealing with multiple demands and unexpected situations
  • abilitytomanagetheirownworkprogramme,toprioritisetasksandmeet deadlines
  • abilitytoworkunderpressuretomeetthedemandsoftherole
  • goodcommunicationsskillswiththeabilitytocommunicateeffectivelyverballyandinwriting through meetings and formal reports

It is essential that the post holder is:

  • Willing to study and achieve a level 5 qualification relevant to the commissioning of services in the public sector
  • Able to travel, on occasion to across the county for Council and/or provider meetings
