The Role

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, the Compliance Monitoring Manager will be responsible for supporting on the design, delivery and oversight of an end to end compliance monitoring programme for Nest Invest aligned with FCA regulations and industry best practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to help support the elevation of our compliance function to the next level, ensuring that Nest Invest continues to adhere to FCA requirements, and navigates the increasing regulatory expectations that accompany the organisation’s growth trajectory.

We are seeking a Compliance Monitoring Manager to lead on the delivery of a Nest Invest Compliance Monitoring Plan, be able to adapt that plan to respond to new or emerging regulatory risks identified through horizon scanning, FCA priorities or internal situations, and deliver compliance monitoring reports which ensure the business is kept up to date with regulatory risks and actions taken which mitigate those risks.

The Person

This is an incredibly exciting time in Nest Invest’s future growth agenda and evolution. The successful Compliance Monitoring Manager will play a key role in helping to shape our approach to demonstrating FCA compliance as we become more sophisticated and specialised as an Asset Manager. We are looking for:

  • An established Compliance Monitoring professional with experience of developing, delivering and running compliance monitoring programmes within Institutional Asset Management, Investment Management or Asset Owner environments.
  • Demonstrable experience of owning or implementing a compliance monitoring plan within an FCA regulated entity, preferably Investment Firms and/or OPS firms.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of regulatory rules and requirements, including FCA rules and working practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, partnering and influencing skills and the ability to face off to a range of senior stakeholders across an investment business, challenging proactively and constructively where necessary.
  • Strong judgement and pragmatism in navigating regulatory risk, with ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Very well organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to be both strategic but also hands on.
  • A genuine desire to contribute to a purpose led environment and a collaborative, collegiate and dynamic culture.

The Investment directorate (Nest Invest) is responsible for investing members’ contributions in order to grow their retirement pots over the long-term. The responsibilities of the team include:

From December 2019, the Nest Investment team was seconded into Nest Invest Ltd (Nest Invest), the investment subsidiary of Nest Corporation.

Nest Invest is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). For the role holder, this means working in a regulated entity, and being required to adhere to certain rules and behaviours included in the FCA’s Code of Conduct (COCON), specifically the individual Conduct Rules defined by the FCA.
