Science Technician – What the Role Involves
- Preparing, setting up, and dismantling laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised, and fully stocked laboratory environment at all times
- Supporting teachers during practical lessons and assisting pupils with equipment use where appropriate
- Managing chemical and biological stock, ensuring safe storage and disposal in line with CLEAPSS guidelines
- Carrying out basic maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment and reporting wider issues promptly

The ideal Science Technician will hold a relevant Science qualification – A-Level, degree, or equivalent – from a reputable UK institution. Previous experience in a laboratory or school technician role is highly desirable.
