Overview
We are seeking a Science Technician to join Exeter College’s Outstanding Faculty of Maths and Science for the academic year 2026/27 (anticipated late August 2026 to July 2027). The role involves providing technical support in dedicated prep rooms for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, working collaboratively with teaching staff and liaising across subject areas and with the Faculty Operations Lead on ordering equipment and resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and maintenance for science laboratory equipment and resources.
- Work flexibly with subject specialist technicians and teaching staff.
- Assist with the set‑up and preparation of practical science sessions for A Level and other courses.
- Liaise across subject areas and handle ordering of equipment.
- Support the safe use of laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
• Scientific background or equivalent experience.• Strong communication skills and a proactive, team‑oriented approach.• Willingness to learn and adapt to the role; suited to both candidates with limited formal technician training and more experienced individuals.
