UPS Engineer – Offshore/Onshore
We are seeking an experienced UPS Engineers to join a growing engineering team delivering critical power solutions across both onshore and offshore environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of UPS systems and industrial battery systems. This role offers a varied workload, regular travel, and the opportunity to work with a broad range of critical power equipment across multiple sectors.
The position will involve both onshore and offshore assignments and may include the supervision and mentoring of trainee engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Offshore Activities
- Conductance, internal resistance and discharge testing of battery systems
- Planned maintenance of UPS systems, including legacy and obsolete equipment
- Installation and commissioning of UPS systems
- Fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and breakdown response
- Preparation of technical reports and service documentation
- Providing recommendations for asset replacement and preventative maintenance improvements
Onshore Activities
- Installation, commissioning and maintenance of industrial battery systems and UPS equipment
- UPS installation and commissioning activities
- Fault finding, repair and breakdown response
- Preparation of technical reports and customer documentation
- Identification of equipment improvements and lifecycle replacement requirements
- Supporting customers across multiple locations throughout the UK
Travel & Working Arrangements
This role involves a significant amount of travel throughout the UK, including regular overnight stays and offshore assignments. Engineers are required to be available for up to 194 working days per calendar year, with work scheduled across both onshore and offshore projects depending on operational and client requirements.
Flexibility is essential, as work may be required on any day of the week and assignments can arise at short notice.

Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) or qualified Approved Electrician
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel extensively and work offshore when required
- Previous offshore experience
- UPS product training and experience
- Knowledge of industrial battery systems
- Familiarity with BS7671 Wiring Regulations
- Experience commissioning and maintaining critical power systems
