NHS Tayside is recruiting an Assistant Information Governance Officer to join the Information Governance & Cyber Assurance Team. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in Information Governance who would like to develop skills and experience in the management of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and wider IG responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised candidate to work in a fastpaced environment where accuracy, judgement and clear communication are essential.
The postholder will mainly support NHS Tayside’s compliance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, working with services across the organisation to gather information, assess applicability of exemptions, and assist in drafting responses. You will maintain accurate records of all requests, contribute to review and appeal processes, and help ensure that statutory timescales are met.
Alongside this, you will contribute to wider Information Governance duties including Data Protection, Confidentiality, Records Management, Information Security and IG awareness and training.
We are looking for someone who has an understanding of IG legislation, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise competing demands. Strong attention to detail and confident communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team.
