Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Nurse (Non‑Medical Prescriber) to take on a permanent Band 7 Clinical Lead role within a specialist drug and alcohol service on the Isle of Wight. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior nurse or clinical lead looking to progress their career in substance misuse services, community nursing, and leadership roles.

This Clinical Lead position is ideal for a motivated and experienced NMP Nurse who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care and leading service development within community drug and alcohol services.

Job Overview

As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical delivery within substance misuse services, including prescribing, detox pathways, and care for individuals with co‑occurring conditions. You will play a key role in leading a team, improving clinical pathways, and driving continuous professional development.

You will be instrumental in tackling health inequalities, embedding trauma‑informed practice, and ensuring safeguarding and compassionate care remain at the forefront of service delivery.

Main Duties

  • Lead all clinical and prescribing activities across substance misuse services
  • Provide a visible, accessible, and authoritative clinical presence for staff and patients
  • Deliver clinical supervision and support to nursing staff in specialist roles
  • Develop and expand Non‑Medical Prescriber (NMP) capacity within the service
  • Drive continuous quality improvement and risk management processes
  • Act as a key liaison between service locations and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the delivery of detox programmes and community‑based interventions
  • Produce reports in line with NDTMS requirements and service level agreements
  • Support the development of clinical pathways, including for co‑occurring conditions

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Significant experience within substance misuse or drug and alcohol services
  • Experience working in community clinical settings
  • Proven leadership experience managing or supervising nursing teams
  • Experience developing clinical pathways and improving service delivery
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma‑informed practice, and complex needs
  • £3,777 recruitment and retention incentive (initial 12 months)
  • Relocation package available up to £8,000
