Commercial Finance Manager – ACCA Careers

We are recruiting exclusively for a Commercial Finance Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity contract, based in Tunbridge Wells. The role starts in March and focuses on Finance Business Partnering and in‑depth analysis.

This position is mid‑senior level contract with a salary range of £65,000–£80,000, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making across the business, partnering closely with Finance and Sales teams.
  • Conduct detailed profitability, cost, and variance analysis to highlight performance trends and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy, alignment with business objectives, and strong cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Review job costing data, identify variances, and support cost optimisation initiatives with operational teams.
  • Develop and maintain advanced, scenario‑based financial models to support investment decisions and long‑term planning.
  • Prepare and present clear financial reports and dashboards, offering actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Support the month‑end close process through analytical reviews and variance explanations.
  • Define, track, and report key financial KPIs to monitor business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and tools, leveraging best practices and automation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong analytical ability with Power BI and advanced Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication and business‑partnering skills
  • Robust, confident, and able to challenge stakeholders constructively
  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience with extensive experience in commercial finance and analytical roles

Role Details

  • Location: Tunbridge Wells – office based 5 days per week; commuting required.
  • Contract: 12 months maternity cover, start between early and mid‑March.
  • Salary: £65,000–£80,000 (dependent on experience)
