Overview

A global professional services firm are looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to join the team. Looking after a team of three, you’ll drive financial performance, strengthen working capital outcomes whilst acting as a key commercial business partner to senior stakeholders.

Based in the city of London on a hybrid basis, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a matrixed, fast‑paced environment and enjoys taking ownership. You will work closely with Partners, Directors, and cross‑functional global finance teams, helping shape business decisions through insightful analysis and robust financial control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of three providing mentorship, leadership, and guidance across billing, reconciliations, and compliance activity
  • Lead all aspects of working capital management, including WIP oversight, billing cycles, and revenue recognition.
  • Manage and develop a team of three Revenue Accountants, ensuring efficient processes and high-quality execution.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to support month‑end, year‑end, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, budgeting, and commercial analysis to guide strategic decision making.
  • Drive improvements in profitability through performance reporting, variance analysis, and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies, frameworks, and regulatory obligations.
  • Act as primary contact for global finance functions including billing & collections, shared services, FP&A, and regional finance.
  • Support audits (internal and external) and contribute to ad-hoc projects at both local and regional level.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with PQE in a commercial finance role
  • Hands-on experience with WIP, billing, forecasting and revenue recognition in a complex, matrixed organisation.
  • Previous stakeholders’ management experience; able to partner with senior leaders and challenge constructively.
  • Highly proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
