Group Sales Director
We’re seeking an outstanding Group Sales Director to drive commercial success across our diverse publishing imprints, managing relationships with major retailers and leading a team of sales professionals across home and international export markets.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact strategic role where you’ll work directly with our CEO and Managing Directors to develop and execute sales strategies that maximise revenue, market share, and profitability. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you’ll champion our authors and books while shaping the future of our sales function in an evolving retail landscape.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement sales strategy across all imprints and channels
- Negotiate major commercial agreements with key retail partners, along with CEO and CFO
- Drive global revenue growth through innovative channel development
- Develop and motivate a high-performing team of approximately 70 people
- Provide strategic insight to inform publishing decisions
- Collaborate with global peers to align strategies and share best practices
- Lead digital transformation efforts within the sales division
Who You Are
- Senior sales leader with proven track record at Director/Executive level
- Deep experience in publishing, media, or consumer goods
- Established relationships with major UK/international retailers
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L management experience
- Strategic thinker who translates plans into measurable results
- Passionate advocate for books, authors, and reading
- Collaborative leader who thrives in a matrixed organisation
