Main responsibilities
- Welcoming patients to the practice in a polite, friendly and professional manner
- Answering incoming telephone calls, managing queries appropriately and directing calls to the correct team or clinician
- Booking, amending and cancelling appointments using the clinical system
- Supporting care navigation by signposting patients to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional
- Processing patient requests, including prescription queries, test result enquiries and general administrative requests.
- Maintaining patient records accurately and confidentially
- Handling correspondence, scanning and filing documents
- Supporting the wider administrative team as required to ensure service continuity
- Adhering to practice policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements at all times

Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard with Medical Pathway
Qualifications required
A minimum of 5 x GCSEs which must include English and maths at grade 4/C or above
