About the Role
Stagwell Media Platform (SMP) is looking for a Finance Lead who will be responsible for managing all aspects of Finance. The position will report to SVP, Global Finance and work side‑by‑side with the company’s commercial, centralized accounting and core teams.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to maintain accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline visibility.
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly or rolling reforecasting processes in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow forecasting for SMP, working closely with AP, AR, and Billing teams to ensure accurate projections and effective cash management.
- Oversee the media billings forecasting and actualisation process.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to monitor financial performance, identifying and explaining variances against budget plans.
- Build and maintain financial reporting packages and dashboards for leadership review.
- Partner with the accounting team to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring all expenses are accurately recorded and reconciled to forecast.
- Conduct variance analysis, comparing actuals versus forecast, and present insights to management.
- Manage the intercompany recharge process end‑to‑end.
- Own intercompany revenue recognition and reconciliation in line with ASC 606, ensuring SOX compliance.
- Work with portfolio entities to communicate and reconcile intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly revenue reconciliations across multiple revenue streams.
- Prepare monthly revenue journal entries with a strong understanding of debits, credits, and the impacts on both the income statement and balance sheet.
- Review commercial contracts, interpret terms, and integrate them into revenue recognition models.
- Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate financial processes.
- Support commercial compliance activities as required
Required Skills
- High proficiency using Maconomy and Microsoft Excel, (including formulas, financial modelling, dashboard creation) is essential
- Familiarity with Power BI (preferred) or Power Query, Power Pivot (advantageous)
- Ability to quickly consolidate and prepare data for senior management review
- Independent, proactive, and comfortable operating with minimal direction
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, organisation, and ownership of deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work at pace
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with clients and agency leaders
- Positive mindset and thrives in a collaborative agency environment
- Hands‑on working style with a willingness to roll up sleeves and support team members
- Prior media agency experience required
- Experience with MediaOcean (media system)
Qualifications
- Qualified / part qualified chartered accountant CPA/CA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent (essential)
