Overview
Role Overview. System engineering the infotainment system. Develop reliable software scripts in Python. Responsible for end-to-end verification and validation of diagnostic systems, service tool workflows, and post-production vehicle functionalities. Ensure the quality, robustness, and accuracy of service-related software, diagnostic routines, and repair procedures used across dealer networks. Collaborate with engineering, service operations, and diagnostic tool teams to ensure readiness of aftersales systems for market deployment.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive V&V plans for aftersales diagnostics, service tool applications, dealer workflows, and guided repair procedures.
- Execute manual and automated test cases on bench, HIL, and vehicle environments for aftersales-related features.
- Validate ECU flashing workflows, DTC generation, service mode behaviors, fault trees, and guided troubleshooting flows.
- Perform diagnostics validation including UDS services, communication integrity (CAN/LIN/Ethernet), and error handling.
- Reproduce field issues reported by dealers; capture logs, analyze root causes, and validate fixes.
- Work closely with service engineering to validate repair instructions, service bulletins, and technical documentation.
- Generate detailed test reports, evidence packs, traceability matrices, and contribute to readiness assessments.
- Support market readiness reviews, dealer pilot programs, and software release sign-off processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of V&V experience in automotive diagnostics, aftersales systems, or ECU testing.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic protocols (UDS, OBD-II), DTC validation, flashing tools, and service workflows.
- Experience using CAN tools (CANoe, CANalyzer), log analysis, and ECU communication debugging.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and aftersales service processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OEM diagnostic platforms (e.g., ODIS, Techline, GDS, Pathfinder, ISTA).
- Knowledge of aftersales data systems, repair manuals, and technical publication workflows.
- Exposure to scripting (Python, CAPL) for automation of diagnostic test flows.
- Familiarity with ISO 14229, ISO 15765, and service documentation standards.
Tools Required
- Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, DTC/UDS test tools, Wireshark.
- OEM diagnostic tools, flashing/configuration tools.
- JIRA/ADO for defect management, Confluence/SharePoint for documentation.
