Information Governance Lead – Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term · Location: Manchester
It is a busy and exciting time at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The landscape regarding managing, sharing and using information and data is changing rapidly. This requires an information governance approach that is innovative, accessible and consistent to enable public service delivery across the GM City Region.
The Devolution agenda for Greater Manchester has led to the Information Governance Team becoming responsible for providing a shared service across the GMCA and TfGM and driving collaboration with partners in Greater Manchester and beyond through the development of an Information Strategy to realise the full potential of information in tackling our most serious challenges and support Greater Manchester’s ambitions.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality expert information management advice relating to information governance, information security, data protection and freedom of information.
- Support large-scale and complex programmes and information sharing arrangements across public service delivery in Greater Manchester.
- Report to the Senior Information Governance Lead and be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering an innovative and enabling information governance service.
- Apply the Information Governance (IG) Framework to support a wide range of programmes and projects, including work and skills, digital transformation, public service reform, fire and rescue, environment, transport, clean air, bus reform, planning and waste.
- Provide IG support and embed the IG Framework on complex, large-scale GM Mayoral priority projects and support the team’s change programme.
- Commit to equality and diversity and contribute to the work of the GMCA and TfGM, ensuring safe and ethical outcomes for the people served.
About You
- Experience as an Information Governance Lead or similar role within an information governance shared service environment.
- Ability to provide high quality expert information management advice across information governance, information security, data protection and freedom of information.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to an innovative IG service.
- Willingness to support delivery of IG across diverse programmes and projects, including complex and large-scale initiatives.
