We’re looking for an experienced HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling or Forensic) to provide psychological leadership and professional supervision across four adult mentalhealth services in Lancashire.

Main duties of the job

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced psychologist seeking a flexible, portfolio-friendly role that offers genuine influence across multiple services. Working one day per week, you’ll support psychologically informed practice, provide professional supervision to Assistant Psychologists and contribute to the continued development of our services.

Job responsibilities

The role:

  • Providing professional supervision to two Assistant Psychologists working across four services
  • Supporting multidisciplinary teams through psychological consultation and formulation
  • Facilitating reflective practice to promote psychologically informed care
  • Contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the delivery of staff training and development
  • Providing specialist psychological advice and guidance where required
  • Promoting evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches across the services

This role is primarily supervisory and consultative in nature and is ideally suited to an experienced psychologist who enjoys supporting teams, developing services and enhancing the quality of psychological care.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling or Forensic)

Experience

  • Experience working within mental health, rehabilitation or related healthcare settings
  • Experience supervising Assistant Psychologists or other junior colleagues
  • Confidence working autonomously and providing specialist psychological consultation
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A passion for developing psychologically informed services
