Overview

An internal move at HSBC can open up new opportunities, helping you build on your experience, develop new skills, and take on a fresh challenge.

About the team

The Retirement Advice Centre of Excellence provides authorised advice on pension transfers for HSBC’s franchised regulated sales network advisers (Wealth Managers) and their supporting Area Wealth Analysts/Relationship Managers. It’s essential that our advice reports are technically accurate, compliant, customer-focused, and aligned to FCA principles.

The role

You’ll work closely with Retirement Advice Consultants to support the delivery of pension advice to customers. You’ll need to manage your workload independently, prioritising customer needs, and operating with strong ethics and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be comfortable communicating clearly (verbally and in writing) with colleagues across different levels and departments, as well as external third parties.

Reporting to the Operational Support Manager, you’ll support the Consultants by collating and analysing customers’ existing pension policy information.

Key responsibilities

  • Contact third-party providers to obtain customer pension scheme data and maintain departmental SLAs.
  • Collate and analyse customers’ existing pension information, logging data accurately and progressing cases by liaising with advisers and ceding schemes.
  • Prepare technically accurate data gathering and present analysis to your assigned Consultant.
  • Handle day-to-day enquiries professionally, resolving within agreed internal SLAs.
  • Review procedures and training materials to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
  • Update multiple platforms accurately to track the customer journey and management information (MI).
  • Work closely with Retirement Advice Consultants, keeping communication open on active cases.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience of pension switching and analysing pension information (advantageous), with an understanding of pension transfers and retirement processes.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs, the sales process, suitability requirements, and the regulatory environment (preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, including managing a pipeline of multiple cases and diary management.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internal systems/data platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex information clearly to varied audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and work to tight deadlines.

Location: Whiteley (base location)
