Area Sales Manager – Midlands

Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Area Sales Manager to join our successful sales team, covering the Midlands region.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional to develop an established territory, build strong customer relationships and identify new opportunities for growth.
The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing sales across your territory through a combination of account management, business development and technical support.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing relationships with existing customers across the region.
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Promoting Switchtec’s extensive portfolio of electrical, electronic and automation products.
- Targeting potential customers currently using competitor products.
- Providing technical advice, product recommendations and application support.
- Preparing quotations, proposals and customer presentations.
- Working closely with our internal sales and technical teams to ensure excellent customer service.
- Keeping up to date with product developments and market opportunities.
- Representing Switchtec professionally at customer visits and industry events.
About You
We are looking for a commercially driven individual who enjoys building relationships, solving customer requirements and identifying opportunities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous sales experience within the electrical, electronic, automation or industrial components sector.
- Good knowledge of low voltage control gear (essential).
- Understanding of automation and control products.
- Strong business development and account management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your own territory.
- Good commercial awareness and a customer-focused attitude.
- Strong organisational and reporting skills.
- Technical confidence when discussing applications and product solutions.
An electrical engineering qualification would be beneficial but is not essential for candidates with relevant industry experience.

Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton and surrounding areas
