A growing organisation is seeking an experienced Governance Manager with a strong background in education governance to support governance operations across multiple sites.

This role requires a specialist understanding of school and academy governance, particularly exclusion procedures and relevant legislation. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to governance and appeal panels, providing expert guidance on statutory requirements, compliance, and best practice.

Key Areas of Focus:

✔ Lead governance administration and support across multiple committees and boards

✔ Providing expert advice to exclusion, disciplinary, and appeal panels

✔ Ensuring governance processes comply with current education legislation and statutory guidance

✔ Supporting trustees, governors, and senior leaders with governance best practice

✔ Leading governance administration, compliance monitoring, and policy management

✔ Delivering high-quality clerking, minute-taking, and governance reporting

What They’re Looking For:

✔ Essential: Significant education governance experience within schools, academies, trusts, or the wider education sector

✔ Essential: Strong working knowledge of exclusions law, statutory guidance, and panel procedures

✔ Experience advising governors, trustees, or independent panels on complex governance matters

✔ Proven experience managing governance, compliance, and committee processes

✔ Excellent report-writing, communication, and minute-taking skills

✔ Confidence influencing and advising senior stakeholders

✔ Ability to manage confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism

✔ Willingness to travel between sites when required
