Role Overview
The Systems Engineer – High Voltage PowerTrain & Charging Systems is responsible for end-to-end systems engineering ownership of in-vehicle HVPT & Charging system features across vehicle programs. With 7 to 10 years of experience, the role focuses on requirements definition, architecture design, integration, validation, and issue resolution delivered in line with performance, safety, regulatory, and user experience objectives.
Key Objectives
- Support delivery of reliable HVPT and Charging system features from concept through validation.
- Ensure system requirements are clear, traceable, and verifiable.
- Enable smooth integration of ECUs, networks, sensors, and actuators.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, elicit, and document vehicle-level and system-level requirements for Powertrain and Charging system features using JAMA/DOORS.
- Decompose vehicle-level requirements into system-level and ECU-level functional requirements.
- Create and maintain system specifications, feature descriptions, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Design and validate Battery Pack (HV), Inverter, Motor, and On-Board Charger (OBC) requirements, including signals, messages, LIN schedules, and I/O mapping.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, validation, and vehicle integration teams to ensure consistent feature behavior.
- Support supplier interactions, including requirements clarification and issue tracking.
- Develop validation strategies, test cases, and acceptance criteria for Powertrain and Charging features.
- Participate in bench, rig, and vehicle testing activities and lead issue investigations.
- Track issues, actions, and requirements traceability using JIRA and related tools.
- Ensure system implementations align with functional safety and cybersecurity expectations.
