Role Description
The Treasury Funding Desk Trader will be a member of the EMEA Funding team, based in Frankfurt, supporting the global organisation and managing liquidity and funding across seven local entities. The role requires a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive execution of a broad range of products and close collaboration with business units, Cash Management, and other Treasury desks.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment of liquidity pools in line with regulatory and internal investment guidelines, optimising P&L across currencies.
- Portfolio management of the HQLA ASW bond book to achieve P&L targets.
- FX swaps funding and execution across 30+ currencies, including spot hedging and tenor profile optimisation.
- Converting USD funding curves to multi‑currency issuance curves for structured issuances and ECP programmes while ensuring policy and limit compliance.
- Communicating and consulting with business units on issuance, investment and hedging policies, and ensuring adequate controls around funding requirements.
- Daily interaction with Cash Management, Secured Financing Desks and other divisions to estimate funding requirements and maintain compliance with internal limits.
- Identifying and realising funding efficiencies, execution optimisation and risk mitigation opportunities in collaboration with local capital and collateral teams.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, credit and management‑imposed liquidity and risk management requirements.
- Maintaining liquidity facilities at local central banks.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in a front‑office Treasury / Funding desk, or related front‑office roles such as FX, repo or HQLA portfolio management.
- Strong motivation to build breadth in career with exposure to senior management locally and globally within a small, multi‑skilled team.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote work environment.
- Outstanding Excel skills with VBA or Python experience; ability to model complex concepts and use custom built functions.
- Analytical, logical mindset with a thorough approach to execution and problem solving.
- Articulate and capable of adapting communication to a variety of stakeholders.
- Calm under pressure and quick‑thinking.
Desirable Qualifications
- Good understanding of Front Office Supervision frameworks and risk management best practices.
- Sound knowledge of liquidity management concepts and relevant regulatory legislation.
