Job Overview

This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape the future of local government in Worcestershire. The work delivered over the next two years will set the direction of services for decades to come. While the Government’s final decision on the preferred model is still pending, the scale and pace of change mean the transition starts now.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme across all seven Worcestershire authorities.
• Develop a clear, deliverable roadmap to the new authority or authorities.
• Ensure robust programme management drives progress and accountability throughout.
• Engage closely with senior officers, elected members, partner organisations, staff, trade unions and residents to maintain confidence and minimise disruption to services.
• Ensure the benefits of reorganisation are realised.

Qualifications

• Experience of leading large-scale, complex transformation programmes.
• Strategic leadership and political awareness.
• Outstanding influencing skills.
