Due to increasing demand for our services, we are seeking to recruit a new Consultant to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation Team.

Role: Consultant – Stakeholder Engagement and Consultation Team

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who enjoys working with people, solving complex challenges and supporting the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with colleagues, project teams, clients and stakeholders to help develop and deliver a range of programme activities that build understanding, strengthen relationships and support project objectives.

The role provides opportunities to develop both technical stakeholder engagement expertise and broader consultancy skills.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement

·        Support the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.

·        Undertake stakeholder mapping and analysis to identify key stakeholder groups, interests and risks.

·        Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees, community organisations, industry bodies and other project stakeholders.

·        Draft stakeholder communications, briefing materials, presentations and engagement content.

·        Coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops, forums and roundtable discussions.

·        Capture stakeholder feedback and ensure actions are tracked and communicated effectively.

Project Delivery

·        Support the delivery of stakeholder engagement workstreams across multiple projects.

·        Maintain accurate records of engagement activities using stakeholder management systems.

·        Monitor stakeholder issues and emerging risks, escalating where appropriate.

·        Contribute to project reporting, dashboards and client updates.

·        Work collaboratively with planning, consenting, environmental and technical teams.

Consultancy and Client Support

·        Attend client meetings and contribute to project discussions.

·        Assist with the preparation of proposals, bids and capability statements.

·        Contribute to thought leadership activities, industry events and knowledge sharing.

·        Support the continuous improvement of stakeholder engagement approaches and tools.

Essential Experience and Skills

·        Experience of stakeholder engagement, consultation, communications, planning, public affairs, community engagement or related discipline.

·        Excellent communication and report-writing skills.

·        Ability to analyse information and present findings clearly.

·        Good organisational and project management skills.

·        Experience using Microsoft Office applications.

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.

·        Experience coordinating meetings, workshops or engagement activities.

Desirable Experience

·        Experience working on infrastructure, planning, development or regeneration projects.

·        Familiarity with stakeholder management or CRM systems.

·        Experience working with public sector organisations, local authorities or infrastructure clients.

·        Knowledge of Development Consent Orders (DCOs), Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAOs) or other major project consenting regimes.
