Overview
Working within the Corporate Insurance & Risk (CIR) team, your caseload will be a mixture of EL and PL claims, predominantly for corporate clients. The claims handled will include pre-litigated and litigated cases to ensure continuity for the client. Significant experience with pre-litigated fast track EL and PL claims is essential. The role requires building strong, trusting relationships with clients. Some experience in dealing with litigated EL and PL claims is preferable but not essential.
Provide a timely, professional and high-quality service to corporate clients in the management of injury cases. Be responsible for effectively and commercially handling a varied caseload of EL and PL work with an appropriate level of supervision. Act as a trusted advisor for clients, demonstrating knowledge and skill commensurate with experience. Create value to clients by identifying opportunities and delivering creative, bespoke legal solutions to support their challenges. Support marketing and business development activity within CIR (e.g. attending events, delivering client training, clinics, meetings and entertainment activities). Build awareness of DAC Beachcroft’s other services. Build effective internal and external networks. Maintain awareness of the Firm’s strategies and plans. Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols. Potential for supervision and management responsibilities in the future. Comply with internal and external service level agreements. Record timely and accurate management information. Meet individual performance measures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage a caseload of EL and PL claims, with emphasis on pre-litigated fast track EL and PL cases.
- Provide timely, professional service to corporate clients and manage client relationships.
- Operate with appropriate supervision while handling a varied caseload.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
- Create value by identifying opportunities and delivering bespoke legal solutions.
- Support CIR marketing and business development activities (e.g. marketing events, client training, clinics, meetings, entertaining clients).
- Build awareness of the Firm’s other services and develop internal and external networks.
- Ensure compliance with the Firm’s strategies, data security protocols and service level agreements.
- Record management information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Meet individual performance measures.
- Potential for future supervision or management responsibilities.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year’s experience handling a own caseload of pre-litigation fast track EL and PL claims (essential).
- Excellent relationship and client handling skills; ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients and take ownership of relationships.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships.
- Experience dealing with corporate clients, including representing the business at in-person meetings and entertaining clients where appropriate.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop legitimate commercial opportunities with support.
- Ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an purely academic legal approach.
- Analytical ability to evaluate factual evidence, identify key legal arguments and apply them effectively.
- IT literacy with working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Prioritisation and organisation skills; ability to manage time, recognise time pressures, and seek help when needed.
- Resilience in negotiations and openness to feedback.
- Knowledge of using social media to market the CIR brand and offering.
