Partner – Residential Development (National Housebuilder Focus)

A leading Top 100 national law firm is seeking to appoint a Senior Partner into its Birmingham office to help lead, shape and grow a highly regarded Residential Development practice.

This is a standout opportunity to work closely with national housebuilders on large-scale residential development projects across the UK, within a well-established, high-performing and well-funded team.

The practice has an excellent market reputation and continues to benefit from significant investment in its people, technology, and infrastructure, providing a strong platform for continued growth and expansion.

This role offers genuine scope to take a leading position in shaping and developing the Birmingham offering, with the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on the regional residential development market.

The position is open at both salaried Partner level and equity Partner level, with flexibility to support team moves where appropriate. The firm also has capacity and appetite to scale the team quickly for the right individual or incoming group.

Core practice expertise includes:

  • Acquisitions, disposals and exchanges of land and property, including serviced parcels
  • Overage arrangements and security
  • Strategic land work including option agreements, promotion agreements and hybrid structures
  • Collaboration, consortium and joint venture arrangements, including site assembly
  • Planning and infrastructure agreements
  • Building licences and development agreements
  • Development management agreements
  • Mixed-use schemes and structuring advice
  • Private rented sector development
  • Public sector-led regeneration schemes
  • Institutional residential investment
  • Investor acquisitions and disposals of residential portfolios
  • Funding agreements

This team is fully supported by a well-established national Plots, Planning, Construction and Real Estate platform, ensuring strong end-to-end service delivery for clients.
