Digital Product Owner – Regulatory Change

This role focuses on ensuring that our financial products remain fully compliant with UK financial services regulatory expectations. Working in partnership with the Regulatory Change team, the Regulatory Change Digital Product Owner will translate high level regulatory developments into structured, prioritised digital change. The role steers regulatory initiatives from roadmap definition through full discovery, definition, backlog creation and delivery support.

Grounded in clear communication and collaborative ways of working, this role ensures that regulatory changes are well understood and aligned to business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Regulatory Change team to translate regulatory updates into a high‑level delivery roadmap with defined milestones and implementation deadlines.
  • Conduct structured discovery for each regulatory change, collaborating with business analysts, compliance, risk, operations, engineering and UX teams.
  • Define and maintain a prioritised backlog of regulatory change items, ensuring each is clearly articulated, feasible, and aligned to regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and communicate a rolling view of upcoming regulatory‑driven digital change, providing clarity to delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Support delivery teams by shaping backlog items, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring clear understanding of required regulatory outcomes.
  • Use insight, performance analytics and stakeholder feedback to validate regulatory change impacts and inform prioritisation.
  • Contribute to governance, risk, and reporting processes to evidence compliance with applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Champion continuous improvement of digital delivery practices, ensuring regulatory change is delivered effectively and sustainably.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience delivering change within the UK financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery frameworks and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with compliance, risk, operations, engineering, UX and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate regulatory updates into clear, actionable requirements for delivery.
  • Confident in managing and prioritising a product backlog.

Desirable

  • Understanding of financial products, operational processes or regulatory reporting requirements.
