The Opportunity
Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you will take full responsibility for direct procurement activities within the business. This is a hands-on position where you will lead sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships, and ensure continuity of supply across key categories.
You will also have line management responsibility for a 1 direct report and work closely with central procurement teams, as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end procurement for key spend areas, including ingredients and packaging materials
- Lead and manage supplier tenders, negotiations, and the rollout of commercial agreements for locally controlled categories
- Analyse market conditions and commodity fluctuations, providing regular updates and insights to internal teams and customers
- Work closely with both UK and central procurement functions to support the delivery of wider business objectives and initiatives
- Establish and nurture effective supplier partnerships to drive performance, reliability, and long-term value
- Contribute procurement expertise to cross-functional projects, particularly in support of new product launches and innovation
- Design and implement sourcing approaches that optimise cost, quality, and supply security
- Ensure all procurement activities are executed efficiently, meeting budgetary targets, timelines, and required specifications
About You
- A degree in procurement or a related field is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, ideally within the food sector
- Strong analytical approach with keen attention to detail
- Effective communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels
- Solid understanding of core procurement principles and practices
- Commercially astute, with the ability to analyse financial data and performance metrics
- Skilled in negotiation, with a background in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data
- Experience supporting, mentoring, or leading team members is beneficial

- Regular travel within the UK to other sites and suppliers
- Occasional international travel – Approx 4 trips per year
