Description

As aQuantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial Manager; helpingto drive efficiencies; managing costs and regional performance forour clients. This role will see you take control of all financialaspects of the project; overseeing all commercial & contractualmatters. You will deliver desired margin return utilising highstandards of commercial acumen. Whilst identifying, recording andtracking, both risks and opportunities.

KeyResponsibilities

We are looking forsomeone to:

  • Manage and monitorproject costs including weekly P&L reporting
  • Review contract documents and advise on anyissues
  • Track the progress and cash flowforecast information
  • Produce and reviewcommercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs) and ProjectFinance Reports
  • Take responsibility forSubcontract Management; including Subcontract Forecasting, raisingSubcontractor Orders and Negotiating Subcontract terms
  • Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries and assessmentof quotations
  • Place subcontract orders,agreement and certification of subcontract valuations, invoice,subcontract payments and final account agreements
  • Be responsible for the management of the change controlprocess, risk and value management
  • Manage andtrack project changes, variations and/or notices
  • Assess and value variations and compensationevents
  • Prepare and submit interim valuationsand payment applications to clients, along with the agreement offinal accounts
  • Attend risk review, progressand commercial meetings on-site with the Client
  • Be actively involved with tenders and pricing
  • Assist Credit Control with cash recovery andforecasting
  • Support the operational team indaily commercial and contractual aspects

Skills, Knowledge &Expertise

  • Degreequalification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable but notessential
  • Ideally you will have experienceworking in the Utilities industry
  • Soundknowledge of contracts – NEC preferred
  • Abilityto prioritise workload, multi-task and work under tight timepressures
  • Excellent communicationskills 
  • High attention todetail 
  • Logical mind
