Treatment Operator – Waste Water

We ensure Scotland’s water is dependably pure. As a Waste Water Operative, you will be on the front lines protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards.
What you’ll do
- Monitor and maintain treatment processes on wastewater, from sedimentation to filtration.
- Record key numbers and file daily reports.
- Collect samples, interpret test results and recommend process improvements.
- Oversee regular maintenance to keep the site and water flowing smoothly.
- Drive the tanker to service public and private septic tanks.
What you’ll bring
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently.
- Customer‑focus and an ability to deliver excellent service.
- Comfortable adapting to new computer systems.
- Attention to detail ensuring accurate recordings and zero health‑and‑safety risks.
- Analytical mindset to spot trends and solve problems.
- Willingness to take part in the standby rota for out‑of‑hours work.
A wee ‘nice to have’
Ideally you have mechanical knowledge to help identify problems before they arise, but training will be provided if necessary.

Salary and progression
This role is a Grade 4. Starting salary £31,640, performance‑driven pay allows progression up to £36,460.
