Principal Accountabilities

As a CDM-Advisor you will:

  • Regularly monitor, measure, analyse and review performance in implementing the requirements of the Standard.
  • Ensure information from all relevant Design Risk Registers, including Package DRRs and Integrated DRRs, is assembled into a Master Design Risk Register.
  • Provide the Pre-Construction Information received from the Client or other Designers to the appropriate parties such as Principal Contractor, Contractors, and other Designers.
  • Inform the Client if they are missing PCI or if additional surveys are required, and confirm arrangements are in place to manage health and safety information flow relating to design.
  • Prepare the Pre-Construction Information document for inclusion in the Invitation to Tender and update during the project, issuing it to relevant parties as required.
  • Agree the format and content of the Health and Safety File documentation with the Programme Manager.
  • Engage with Designers and Principal Contractor to explain the expectations of the Health and Safety File.
  • Review the content of the Health and Safety File with Designers after the Invitation to Tender review and after any design changes impacting health and safety.
  • Open the Health and Safety File at the start of each package of work and agree a delivery schedule with Designers and Principal Contractor.
  • Update the Health and Safety File as the project progresses through design development and the construction phase.
  • Assess Designers to confirm they have eliminated hazards, complied with regulations, and provided information on residual risks.
  • Ensure Designers prepare a Design Risk Register for inclusion in the Invitation to Tender document.
  • Engage with Designers to ensure arrangements to monitor and close out design changes that impact health and safety during the construction phase.
  • Ensure the design is reviewed regularly and agree a review schedule with Designers.
  • Ensure temporary construction works are considered.
