Responsibilities

  • Support the provision of a pest control service, following work programmes, inspecting and monitoring work progress to effectively and efficiently deliver a fully integrated and comprehensive customer‑focused Pest Management service within Estate Services.
  • Lead investigations into and take action to resolve pest problems.
  • Update records accurately in line with procedures using IT software packages.
  • Respond to emergency situations and urgent requests as required and instructed by the Manager/Supervisor within normal day to day hours.
  • Take appropriate action to deal with a range of issues and situations as they arise by giving practical appropriate advice or assistance, reporting more complex issues to the Manager for guidance.
  • Deputise for the Pest Control Team Leader in their absence.
  • Liaise with internal and external departments and agencies such as Yorkshire Water.
  • Attend all relevant training courses e.g. practical training, college training and internal training associated with the post.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of COSHH / Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in the handling of toxic chemicals and the ability to take on physically demanding activities.
  • An awareness of Health and Safety as it relates to the role and the measures needed to do the job safely.
  • A minimum qualification of RSPH or BPCA Level 2 with a minimum one‑year practical experience, alternatively full training will be provided.
  • A current manual driving licence with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Right to work in the UK, Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • 3 years worth of references.
  • A basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required for the successful candidate as part of the pre‑employment process – Criminal Conviction Checks.
